PIME’S project in Szentendre arrived to a great milestone on 10 May, namely the ÉMI Knowledge Centre of Construction was officially opened by Sára Hegmanné Nemes (Minister of State for State Property). During a guided tour guests could meet the bioclimatic designed innovative elements of the building. An exhibition in the hall of the building gave a wider overview about the CONCERTO initiatives and the PIME’S.
ÉMI celebrates its 50 years anniversary this year, so the opening ceremony is part of ÉMI’s jubilee events too. Starting the new half century ÉMI decided to move from Budapest city centre to the outskirt, where 8 hectare areas will serve for a new Knowledge Centre of Construction. The new office building and the existing buildings due to refurbish in the next periode are supplied by renewable energy based on local sources as biogas CHP and heat pump on sewage nearby and architectural integrated PV and PV-Thermal systems. The area will host the ÉMI’s and Universities’ laboratories with a foreseen move in 2014.
