After embarking on scientific research in 1998, ÉMI's R & D and innovation activities have stepped into the international arena (particularly in the European Union). Getting involved in international research gave a further incentive to our research and development, in part with EU grants now becoming available to us, and in part by joining the ranks of cutting edge international science.
The international research, that started in 2000, keeps spanning more and more specialized areas. To date, ÉMI has participated in European calls for proposals listed in the Annex, as a cooperative or consortium partner of several Western European associate research institutes. Our colleagues involved in the projects have progressed to national coordinator and team leader positions in the tenders from the initial status of paticipant partners.
