Technical Assessment are documents providing information on the assessment of the performance of certain, mainly new and innovative construction products in relation to their essential characteristics. One group is the National Technical Assessments valid in Hungary (NMÉ), and another is the European Technical Assessment (ETA), which may be used throughout the European Union.

Our testing activities are consolidated by the Central Laboratory accredited according to MSZ EN ISO 17025:2005. The Central Laboratory includes the various industry-specific branch laboratories and regional laboratoriesof ÉMI. Prerequisite of construction products' placing on market - based on Construction Products Regulation 305/2011/EC - is the compelition of performance verification process. As a designated and notified body of the European Commission (Notified body number: 1415) ÉMI performs the construction products' assesment and verification of constancy of performance.

The Fire Prevention Certificate of Conformity (TMI) is a voluntary document, certifying the fire protection characteristics of a construction product, and setting the fire protection conditions of its application. It is voluntary, as it is not mandatory, however, the professional municipal fire department, as an authority may and often does request it.

An Application Certificate (ATB) is a document, issued by a third party, for construction products, materials, type structures or construction methods, that can be requested voluntarily, and that specifies the relevant values of product characteristics for national use, and the technical conditions for application, subject to the Hungarian regulation and technical provisions.

Voluntary certification of factory production control is recommended to those construction product manufacturers, who would like to boost the confidence of the users in their products and increase the efficiency of their production control system by certifiing their factory production control system without a legal obligation, on a volunteer basis.
